Materi senyawa hidrokarbon merupakan salah satu materi kimia yang sulit dipahami oleh siswa karena terdiri dari rumus senyawa dan turunannya. Hal ini tentu berpengaruh terhadap critical thinking skills siswa. Pada era new normal pembelajaran dilakukan secara blended learning. Guru dituntut untuk memberikan strategi pengajaran yang lebih baik dan kreatif yaitu dengan diadakannya critical thinking test dipadukan model discovery learning berpendekatan scientifict approach. Model discovery learning diterapkan agar siswa belajar mandiri menemukan konsep berbasis keilmuwan berdasarkan metode ilmiah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh model discovery learning berpendekatan scientific terhadap critical thinking siswa materi senyawa hidrokarbon. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasy eksperimen. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes berpikir kritis, observasi dan dokumentasi. Sampel yang digunakan terdiri dari kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol berjumlah 72 siswa yaitu kelas XI-MIA 1 dan XI-MIA 2. Analisis data yang digunakan menggunakan uji t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa critical thinking skills siswa pada materi senyawa hidrokarbon mencapai 50%. Reliabilitas instumen soal sebesar 0,855 dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning berpendekatan scientific dapat mempengaruhi critical thinking skills siswa SMA Kelas XI-MIA di SMAN 1 Papar Kediri pada era new normal.

Abstract

[The Effect Of Discovery Learning Model With Scientific Approach On Critical Thinking Skills Students of Classes XI-MIA SMAN 1 Hydrocarbon Compounds Material In The New Normal Era] Hydrocarbon compound material is a material that is difficult for students to understand because it consists of compound formulas and their derivatives. This certainly affects students' critical thinking skills. In the new normal era, learning was carried out using blended learning. Teachers were required to provide better and more creative teaching strategies, namely by holding a critical thinking test combined with a discovery learning model with a scientific approach. The discovery learning model is applied so that students learn independently to find scientific-based concepts based on the scientific method. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the discovery learning model with a scientific approach to the critical thinking of students on the subject of hydrocarbon compounds. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type of research. Data collection techniques using critical thinking tests, observation, and documentation. The subjects of this study were students of classes XI-MIA 1 and XI-MIA 2. The sample used consisted of an experimental class and a control class of 72 students. Analysis of the data used using the t-test. The results showed that the critical thinking skills of students on the material of hydrocarbon compounds reached 50%. The reliability of the question instrument is 0.855 with a very high category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the discovery learning model with a scientific approach can affect the critical thinking skills of SMA Class XI-MIA students at SMAN 1 Papar Kediri in the new normal era.
