Indonesia has various types of beans that can grow well. Some local beans can be found in remote areas and used for food needs. Legumescowpeas, gude beans, kidney beans, soybeans and peanuts, are well known and widely used throughout the world as potential food ingredients. However, this does not mean that the beans will escape post-harvest pest attacks in storage. This research was conducted at the Plant Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture - Nusa Cendana University, Kupang which took place from July - September 2022. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of postharvest insect pests on several types of legumes (Gude beans, red beans and green beans) on the mainland of Timor Island. This study used a survey method with direct observation techniques to obtain symptomatic nuts and then observed the types of insect pests and symptoms of damage. The variables observed were the types of insect pests, morphological characteristics and symptoms of damage. The results of the research on legumes on the mainland of Timor Island found 5 species of insect pests, namely Araecerus fasciculatus on tourist beans, Sitophilus zeamais and Sitophilus Oryzae on kidney beans, Callosobrucus chinesis and Callosobrucus maculatus on green beans. Symptoms of damage found by insect pests on legume commodities are that there are holes in the nuts that are rather large, the beans will crack and crumble over time.
